Astrolabium privacy policy

Astrolabium is a tarot, I Ching and lunar guidance app. This policy explains what it stores about you, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it.

What Astrolabium stores

• Your account. The app creates an anonymous account on first open so your readings survive; it has an identifier and no personal details. If you register, it also holds your email address.
• What you write and what the app answers. Your questions, the cards drawn, the interpretations, your chat with the lunar guide, your journal, notes, agenda entries and reminders.
• Your birth details, if you enter them. Your name, and the date, time and place of your birth. They are optional and you choose to type them: they exist so the app can compute your natal chart and the transits over it, which is astronomy — a date, a clock time and a pair of coordinates produce a sky. Without the time there is no ascendant and no houses, and the app says so rather than inventing them. You can change or clear them at any time, and deleting your account deletes them.
• Your approximate location, if you allow it. Only when you tap “use my location”, and only as coarse coordinates — never continuous tracking, never in the background. They are used for the moon’s rise and set times where you are, and for whether an eclipse is visible from there. You can also pick a city by hand instead and never grant the permission.
• Your progress. Lessons completed, games, streaks and statistics.
• Purchases. Which subscription you have and whether it is active, through RevenueCat. Astrolabium never sees your card: payment happens inside Google Play or the App Store.
• Usage events. A fixed list of events — app opened, reading started, paywall viewed, checkout started — with a random installation identifier, app version, platform and language. The event format does not allow free text, so your questions never travel inside an analytics event.
• Crash reports. When the app fails, it sends the error type, the technical stack trace and the app version, so the failure can be found and fixed. No part of your readings, questions or account travels with it.
• A device identifier. On Android, the app sends the system SSAID so the daily AI limit cannot be reset by reinstalling. When no verified device identifier is available, the server derives a key from your IP address; the IP itself is not stored.

What is on your phone and not on a server

Recent conversations, drafts and preferences are cached on the device so the app works offline and opens fast. Deleting your account clears this cache; uninstalling the app removes it too.

Artificial intelligence

Interpretations, lunar guidance and chat replies are generated by Google Gemini. When you ask something, the question and the context of the reading are sent to Google to produce the answer, and Google processes them as a provider under its API terms.

Your birth details are not sent to Google. When a reply is about your chart, the chart is computed here first and only the result travels — the positions of the planets in their signs. Your birth date and time stay on our side. Your name is never sent at all, and neither is your email or anything about your payments.

The AI is there for reflection and entertainment. It refuses medical, psychological, legal and financial decisions, and never offers timing for a health decision. If a message shows someone may be in danger, the app answers with a pointer to human help and does not send the message to the model at all.

Who else processes your data

• Supabase — database, accounts and storage.
• Vercel — hosting of the backend.
• Google — Gemini for generation, Play Integrity to verify the app is genuine, and Google Play for billing.
• RevenueCat — subscription state.

Astrolabium does not sell your data and does not run advertising.

How long it is kept

Your content stays while your account exists. When you delete your account it is removed immediately, in a single transaction — see the deletion page for what is kept afterwards and why (payment records and content reports, both with your identifier removed).

Usage events are deleted after 400 days, whether or not you delete your account. A daily job does it; the limit is enforced, not intended.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or object to processing, by writing to info@astrolabium.app. Deletion is also a button inside the app: open the menu at the top right and choose Delete account — the same menu also links this policy and the terms. If you think your data is mishandled you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD).

Children

Astrolabium is not intended for people under 18, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from them; if you believe a minor has an account, write to info@astrolabium.app and it will be deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the app will say so before the change applies. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
